From a quiet girl to a published author and mental health advocate, Anshvi's inspiring journey from Yamunanagar, Haryana highlights the transformative power of stepping out of her comfort zone and pursuing her passions.
Anshvi's life has undergone a profound transformation over the years. At 17, she has shown that it is never too late to start a new story and create a life of your own. Reflecting on her journey, she can proudly say to her younger self, "We did it."
Once a quiet girl who rarely interacted with others and feared to dream, Anshvi struggled to find her place. While her cousins aspired to become IFS officers, doctors, or engineers, the mere thought of these ambitions scared her. Despite excelling in academics, her participation in extracurricular activities was minimal, and she often faced underestimation. The COVID-19 pandemic further impacted her, leading to a decline in her grades and affecting her mental and physical health. This continued until her 10th grade, where she passed her board exams with 80% marks. Though her parents were satisfied, negative comments from relatives and neighbors overshadowed her achievement.
However, on the day her results were announced, Anshvi was appointed as the discipline vice-captain of her school, making her parents proud.
During her 11th grade, Anshvi decided to ignore external opinions and chose her own path, opting for humanities despite everyone in her family choosing sciences. She received little support from those around her, but her parents' unwavering belief became her strength.
A pivotal moment came in 10th grade when a teacher told her father that she would be a failure in life. This comment lingered in her mind, pushing her to prove herself. A turning point occurred when she attended a Model United Nations (MUN) conference in her district. Though her performance was poor, the experience boosted her confidence and inspired her to step out of her comfort zone. She participated in numerous MUN conferences nationally and internationally, which greatly increased her self-assurance and social interactions.
Anshvi's involvement in NGOs and her passion for mental health led her to become a mental health advocate, giving seminars to school students and helping many. She also began doing talk shows to share her journey, inspiring others. One day, at 5:30 in the morning, she decided to write a book. Despite skepticism from others, she persisted and became a published author of "Growing Through the Waves of Life: Rewrite Your Story."
From struggling to speak to classmates to becoming the head girl of her school, Anshvi has spread awareness about mental health and healed people through her writings and talk shows. Her younger self could never have imagined this transformation. Through all of this, she has learned that taking risks and stepping out of her comfort zone were the best decisions she ever made.
Reflecting on her journey, Anshvi shares, :-
"Taking risks and leaving my comfort zone has completely transformed me into a new person. I have learned that with no guidance from anyone, you can still guide yourself and create your own story. I am living proof that you can overcome doubt and achieve greatness"
